I love animals and find them very intriguing to study and paint. Every pet portrait you see here was created from one or more photographs that I captured personally. This is my preferred way to do it. The better the photograph, the easier it is for me to zero in on that exact likeness. I can have more control of light source, background, and eye-level. Sometimes a portrait is commissioned after a favorite pet has passed on. Naturally I would be very happy to review your own pictures to see if one could make a good painting or drawing.
